Full-Time Youth & Family Social Worker

Compensation: $36.37/hour plus paid vacation time off (3 weeks vacation, wellness and float days) and a comprehensive benefits package including RRSP matching after a waiting period of three months.
Location: London, ON
Site: Community Care
Schedule: 32-40 hrs/week; varied shifts including evenings, weekends and public holidays

Summary of Roles & Responsibilities:
- Work in live-in intensive treatment group care setting for people aged 12-18 experiencing complex mental health challenges; short-term assessment and stabilization program
- Approximately 75% of time is spent as a front-line therapist working with youth in program and families providing individual and group therapy
- Remaining focus of time is clinical consultation with the team regarding treatment planning, knowledge sharing, connecting all external Allied Health, and advocacy for youth and families
- Provide consistent supervision to participants
- Utilize a collaborative approach to work towards, providing participants with positive, prosocial community engagement, aimed to strengthen life skills and transition beyond the program and supports
- Demonstrate commitment to the principles of equity, diversity, inclusion, and justice
Qualifications:
- MSW is preferred, BSW
- Registration in good standing with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers
- Certification in trauma focused CBT, DBT-A, and Circle of Support Parenting
- Demonstrated skills in clinical assessment, measures, and evaluation
- Respectful, empathetic, and non-biased communication skills
- Sound judgement and discernment in decision-making
- Conflict resolution and crisis de-escalation and management skills
- Experience establishing and maintaining therapeutic relationships with youth
- Proficiency in the use of computers and various software applications
- Fluent speaking, writing and reading in English; multilingualism is considered an asset
Requirements:
- Legally entitled to work in Canada
- Valid Class G (full) Driver’s License with a 3-year Uncertified Driver Record; reliable vehicle
- Satisfactory current (within the last 6 months) Police Vulnerable Sector Check
- Physical Health assessment: verification of up-to-date immunizations, negative TB Skin test (within the last 6 months), COVID vaccination status (2 doses), and ability to meet the physical and psychological requirements of the position
- Current Standard First Aid & CPR, Level C with AED training preferred
