The Role:

Reporting directly to the Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Coordinator role will communicate and coordinate with the maintenance and production teams. The Coordinator will be responsible for collecting and analyzing data related to equipment downtime.

Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Sr. Maintenance Manager and Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Coordinator will aid in various maintenance activities as assigned and provide administrative support for the maintenance department of the company. Core functionalities include:

  • Assist in the preparation and scheduling of maintenance activities.

  • Generate and update work orders and maintenance plans.

  • Ensure that maintenance records are complete and accurate.

  • Monitor spare parts inventory and flag low-stock components.

  • Coordinate with maintenance technicians and production personnel to reduce downtime and enhance equipment reliability.

  • Support contractor coordination for scheduled service work.

  • Assist with updating safety procedures and downtime logs.

  • Recommend improvements to maintenance scheduling, documentation, and maintenance workflow efficiency.

  • Ability to drive and commute to pick up various maintenance parts.

  • Participate in safety audits, maintenance inspections, and other regulatory compliance checks.

  • Ensure maintenance documentation aligns with food safety, GMP, HACCP, and other safety standards.

  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols and company policies, promoting a safe environment.

  • Participates in special projects, other duties or tasks that may be assigned as required

  • Ensures the health, safety, cleanliness, and security of the work environment.

Any other duties as assigned by the Sr. Maintenance Manager and Maintenance Manager.

The above is not an exhaustive list of duties and the incumbent will be expected to perform different tasks as necessitated by their changing role within the organization and the overall business objectives of the organization.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED

  • Technical diploma or associate degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.

  • Experience in preventative maintenance and electrical is an asset.

  • 2-5+ years hands-on maintenance experience;

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills;

  • Strong multi-tasking and organizational skills with an eye for continuous improvement;

  • Strong ability and ability to drive action.

  • Ability to drive and commute to places to pick up various parts.
