As an Estimating Coordinator, you will play a key role in supporting the Civil Estimating team by managing Estimating Assistants and Interns. This role is designed to provide exposure to a wide range of quantity takeoffs, allowing the successful candidate to develop proficiency across multiple estimating disciplines. This entry-level position includes close supervision and hands-on training, offering an excellent opportunity to develop strong coordination and technical skills within heavy civil construction estimating.
This role works closely with the Estimating team to support the full bidding process. Responsibilities include tracking and coordinating quantity takeoffs across multiple estimates, often simultaneously, and helping manage estimating timelines. As experience develops, the role will also involve mentoring Estimating Assistants and Interns.
Your day-to-day will look like:

Support the Civil Estimating team by managing the organization of bid documents and quantity takeoffs.

Regularly check in with Estimators for training, feedback, and task prioritization.

Troubleshoot and review quantity takeoffs for accuracy and quality control.
-
Become an expert at conducting and planning quantity takeoffs from civil drawings, including:
- Determining feasible timelines for takeoffs.
- Bridging the gap in communication with Estimators and takeoff contributors.
- Summarizing information for Estimators.
- Assist with estimate closeout.

Manage multiple projects with different deadlines while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy.
You have the following qualifications, technical and interpersonal skills:
Qualifications:

Must be eligible to work in Canada.

Must have reliable transportation.
-
Years of experience: 0 years (entry-level role).

Education: Bachelor of Engineering or Applied Science, eligible for registration as an EIT.

Proficient in MS Office Suite (Teams, Excel, Outlook, and Word).

Quick learner with strong technical adaptability.

Typing speed of 50 WPM with 95% accuracy.

Strong document organization and file management skills.
