Design Execution Manager
About the role
Primary Purpose Partner with the Client’s internal retail design and project management teams to manage the design and production of print and digital materials for branded retail shopper marketing campaigns, ensuring efficient workflow between the creative and executional phases in the delivery of all production files and materials on time, on budget and in line with quality standards.
This role is a temporary contract position for approximately 4 months (length of contract subject to change) Reporting To: Account Director General Overview Manage communication between the Client’s internal retail design team, Marks design studio, and Client’s translation and production partners for branded retail design adaptation. Align with Client on brief and scope of work and monitor/adjust project execution for profitability, on-time delivery, and adherence to design and brand standards.
Responsibilities
- Develop and demonstrate deep understanding of Client’s culture, brand, marketing objectives, partnerships, and production processes
- Oversee branded retail projects, managing end-to-end from design to prepress
- Lead project kick-offs, client status meetings and internal briefings, and maintain project status reports
- Act as central liaison between all internal and external stakeholders during project execution
- Write briefs in conjunction with the client, aligning on campaign objectives and design intent
- Provide internal creative/production guidance and ensure that creative aligns with the briefs and brand guidelines
- Act as a final check on all design work to ensure high standards are met, error-free
- Liaise with client, production partners and internal team to resolve client and project related concerns
- Provide estimates prior to work starting, based on approved rate cards and internal project plans developed in conjunction with studio PMs, creative leads, and resource management
- Maintain internal budget tracking and generate monthly invoices
- Provide line of sight to upcoming projects for revenue forecasting and resource planning
- Multi-task and problem-solve on a daily basis, and collaborate with broader Marks teams
- Optimize internal and external resources for efficiency, creativity, and design quality
Success In The Role Success in this role is achieved by consistently demonstrating the ability to collaborate, adapt and efficiently execute against the Client’s priorities; uphold standards of design excellence and brand compliance; manage multiple priorities with internal and external stakeholders; forecast, estimate, monitor and invoice project revenue; and operate in the spirit of continuous improvement to ensure the business moves forward.
Education & Experience Requirements
- 3-5+ years experience in client service and project management on brand and design adaptation, preferably in a retail design / shopper marketing environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or Design
- Proficiency with using Mac OS, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint (or Keynote)
- Proficiency with using project management platforms such as Workfront, Monday, Asana
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects at a time while paying strict attention to detail
- Excellent listening, negotiation and presentation skills
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
Ideal Candidate Will Possess
- Thorough understanding of creative and production processes for print and digital shopper marketing.
- Experience in quoting, tracking and reporting project-level revenue (internal) and budget (external)
- Experience working in a matrixed, client-embedded environment as a project manager and trusted partner.
- Collaborative, agile and proactive approach to problem-solving
- Curious nature and a commitment to continuous learning and process improvement.
The Ontario pay range for this position is $64,951.00 to $81,188.50 CAD annually. Ultimately, in determining pay, we will consider the successful candidate's experience, skills, knowledge, and other job-related factors.
