TheMaximo Solution Architectis a senior, hands-on functional leader responsible for the architecture, implementation, and long-term sustainment of ENMAX’s enterprise Maximo platform. Working across ENMAX Energy, Power, and Corporate teams, this role partners with business leaders, delivery teams, and vendors to translate complex operational needs into scalable, integrated Maximo solutions.

As the functional authority for Maximo, this role leads solution design and delivery for complex initiatives, driving innovation, and providing leadership across cross-functional teams to enable business transformation and measurable outcomes.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Architect, design, develop, implement, and sustain Maximo solutions that support complex business requirements, leveraging industry experience and best practices.

  • Serve as ENMAX’s Maximo expert by developing, reviewing, and maintaining functional and non-functional design documentation and architectural artifacts.

  • Lead and facilitate workshops to elicit requirements, align process designs (asset, work, supply chain, inventory), and support testing strategies, user acceptance, training, and communication plans.

  • Provide guidance and leadership to Maximo technical and delivery teams, as well as other IT teams and partners involved in supporting Maximo.

  • Design and validate workflows, reports, application configurations, automation scripts, and technical designs; recommend and implement procedures and automations to improve efficiency and reduce bottlenecks.

  • Analyze, create, and revise documents, process maps, and procedures for business process flows; create and maintain operational documentation, including project workflows, templates, and process manuals.

  • Develop comprehensive test strategies, cases, and scenarios; perform testing and quality assurance for Maximo applications to ensure integrity and alignment with business requirements.

  • Present design concepts and process improvements, to both technical and non-technical audiences, supporting change management and adoption.

  • Present to and work alongside various levels of the organization, including Enterprise Architecture to support architectural decisions and design approvals

  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with internal and external team members, including business leadership, SMEs, IT PMO, and related/integrated IT systems teams. Facilitate communication between business, technical, and UX teams ensuring alignment on priorities and seamless execution of initiatives.

  • Operate and support an intake funnel for Maximo enhancements, ensuring effective prioritization with stakeholders; collaborate cross-functionally with business stakeholders, UX designers, developers, and project managers to align priorities and drive informed decision-making; provide time and cost estimates for analysis and development tasks.

Education Required:

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent IT-related designation is required.

  • Accredited Business Analysis certification is an asset.

  • IBM Maximo certification(s) an asset.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Minimum of 10 years working experience in information technology with Maximo (release levels 7.5, 7.6, MAS).

  • Minimum of 5 years working experience in business analysis.

  • Expert knowledge of Enterprise Asset Management systems and asset/work management lifecycle principles.

  • Ability to write SQL queries used for front-end applications (Maximo) and reports (BIRT, Cognos, Power BI).

Competencies:

  • Strong experience designing, configuring, customizing (including automation scripting), and testing IBM Maximo solutions

  • Deep understanding of asset and work management workflows that support end-to-end operational processes

  • Experience delivering Maximo solutions in T&D utilities and/or Oil & Gas environments

  • Proven ability to integrate Maximo with external enterprise systems and platforms

  • Handson experience with Maximo mobility solutions

  • Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship building skills, with experience documenting workflows, procedures, and best practices and Agile delivery teams

Location**:**This role will be part of our hybrid (home and office) work force with office workspace located at ENMAX Place (141 - 50th Avenue SE, Calgary, AB). You will work from home on Mondays and Fridays and in the office on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
