What you will be doing:
The Shop Foreman is responsible for leading technicians in the repair, rewind, and maintenance of electric motors and rotating equipment. This role ensures that work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. The Shop Foreman oversees daily workflow, coordinates resources, and supports the professional growth of shop personnel. A key aspect of the role also includes overseeing the preparation of condition reports and service reports, ensuring customers receive clear, accurate documentation of repair findings, recommended actions, and completed work.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise, coach, and mentor shop technicians and apprentices.
- Inspect in-process and completed motor repairs to ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Oversee the creation and accuracy of condition reports and service reports for customers.
- Plan and coordinate workflow, assign jobs, and manage the shop schedule.
- Monitor parts availability for active jobs and escalate equipment or tooling needs.
- Lead and support health, safety, and quality initiatives, including audits and investigations.
- Facilitate employee development through training, skills assessments, and mentorship.
- Collaborate with management to optimize productivity and maintain service excellence.

What we need from you:
- Proven leadership and supervisory experience in a shop environment.
- Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage shifting priorities.
- Solid organizational ability to coordinate people, equipment, and workload.
- In-depth knowledge of motor repair, rewind, and maintenance processes.
- Thorough understanding of safety practices and quality systems (ISO or similar).
- Journeyperson certification in an electrical or mechanical trade (TQ required).
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in motor repair or the rotating equipment industry.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare and review technical reports for customers.
