Job Overview

The primary purpose of this role is to independently manage the application of quality assurance and quality control practices. This includes adherence to the Project Quality Management Plan, Assessment Plan, KPIs, and Procedures and Work Instructions to be used by the project team throughout the project's lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in the development and execution of Project Quality Management Plans and audit objectives, ensuring quality issues and audit deficiencies are managed promptly and effectively.
  • Oversee technical processes and solutions related to assessing, monitoring, reporting, and implementing project quality during project design and execution.
  • Perform or coordinate quality assessments and report regularly on all quality initiatives to the Project Execution Teams.
  • Collaborate with Project Management personnel and Support Group/Business Unit personnel to deploy standardized procedures to various project organizations and support project-specific procedure development where required.
  • Conduct quality reviews of vendor Material Requisitions, Inspection and Test Plans, and Inspection Packages.
  • Prepare and manage Non-Conformance Reports through to closure via the client's Quality Enhancement Reporting tool.
  • Prepare Corrective Action Reports, Preventative Action Reports, and Root Cause Analyses as required.
  • Communicate with Engineering Consultants, Vendors, Project Engineering, and Construction teams for resolution of documentation issues.
  • Review Supplier Quality documentation for applicability and conformance.
  • Ensure control of project QA/QC records.
  • Create project documents such as ITPs, pressure test plans, weld and NDE matrices.
  • Ensure completeness of field record turnovers.
  • Facilitate and support the redlining of drawings.
  • Perform quality assurance reviews of supplier quality management plans, material requisitions, inspection and test plans, and other activities detailed in the Project Quality Management Plan.
  • Support the project team by providing expertise in the field of quality management.
  • Prepare and address non-conformance reports and associated activities.
  • Assist in preparation and readiness of supplier documentation and records.
  • Ensure suppliers' quality practices address the client's records requirements.
  • Provide continuous improvement recommendations.
  • Assist with field turnover compilation and redlining of project drawings.

Qualifications

  • Related university degree and four-plus years’ experience OR seven-plus years of previous quality, PLM, construction, records, or field operations experience OR equivalent mix of formal education and experience.
  • CWB Level 2 Welding Inspection and applicable Quality management certificates/courses.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Applicable construction experience relating to the oil industry.
  • Aptitude and communication skills related to leading and influencing others.
  • Proven interpersonal, communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to be a change leader.
  • Effective team player oriented to team success.
  • NACE/AMPP Level II Coating Inspector Program (CIP) certification.

Working Conditions

  • Expected presence in both office environment (70%) and field environment (30%), which may vary based on project schedules.
  • Overnight field visits may include exposure to physical and environmental factors requiring appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
