Compensation Details:
- Business Development 17: Salaries typically range from $83,037 to $110,717 annually, based on qualifications and experiences, plus a performance-based incentive.
- Business Development 18: Salaries typically range from $94,664 to $126,219 annually, based on qualifications and experiences, plus a performance-based incentive.
Location:
- Export Development Canada operates in a hybrid work environment, currently requiring employees to work in the office 2 days per week. (subject to change)
- This role can be performed from EDC’s headquarters in Toronto, Ottawa or Montreal.
- Relocation assistance is available for candidates who meet the eligibility criteria.

Team Overview:
The Partnerships team manages strategic relationships across the enterprise and regional levels with Canadian and international financial institutions, credit unions, private funds, alternative lenders, and private, public, and nonprofit organizations.
The Governance function, embedded within this team, ensures portfolio consistency, performance, resilience, and compliance through clear standards and integrated processes. It supports mutually beneficial and sustainable partner engagement, strengthening the robustness and value of the B2B ecosystem.
This role is part of the Governance function and includes an external-facing component, involving direct interactions with partners to ensure compliance and portfolio coherence, while proactively managing unassigned relationships and facilitating structured transitions.
What you will be doing:
- Manage a pool of partners.
- Maintain direct interactions with partners to ensure portfolio compliance and consistency.
- Conduct performance and risk assessments (credit and non-credit), and coordinate stakeholder validation.
- Centralize periodic validations to support renewals and long-term engagement.
- Ensure compliance during administrative closures and residual risk management.
- Lead repositioning or exit processes to maintain portfolio coherence.
- Leverage learnings to reinforce standards and optimize governance practices.
What we are looking for:
Level 17 – Partnerships Manager
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in business development in the financial services sector or portfolio management.
- Familiarity with governance and risk management practices.
- Strong analytical, information synthesis, and communication skills (oral and written).
- Experience in project management and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to interpret financial data and apply compliance standards.
- Capacity to execute validations and contribute to documentation of learnings.
Level 18 – Senior Partnerships Manager
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in international business development or financial services.
- Proven experience in strategic portfolio management and cross-functional leadership.
- Ability to lead complex performance and risk assessments and coordinate stakeholder validations.
- Skilled in managing partner repositioning or exit strategies to ensure strategic alignment.
- Expertise in partner engagement strategy and advanced governance practices.
- Leadership in formalizing standards and optimizing governance processes.
What will make you stand out:
- Bilingualism (French and English).
- Solid understanding of EDC’s activities and segments.
