Job Description:

Position Purpose
Reporting to the Manager of Business Development and Sustainability, the Regional Business Development Specialist is responsible for developing and executing strategies to enhance donor retention and stewardship, overseeing communication, building strong relationships with donors, and providing support for internal and external partners with a strong emphasis on efficiency, organization, operational protocols, and superior customer service in their designated region.

Key Accountabilities

  • Execute donor retention and stewardship strategies to strengthen relationships and increase long-term giving.
  • Identify and recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency, best practices, and departmental performance outcomes.
  • Manage donor leads and referrals, ensuring timely follow-up and high-quality customer service for all potential partners.
  • Support and investigate new business opportunities to expand regional partnerships and revenue streams.
  • Prepare and process donor documentation, including tax receipts, acknowledgements, and formal thank-you communications.
  • Maintain and oversee accurate, current, and consistently formatted donor and partner records within databases.
  • Communicate professionally with donors and partners across multiple channels, ensuring responsiveness and relationship stewardship.
  • Collaborate with leadership to engage federal, provincial, and industry stakeholders in support of advocacy and fundraising initiatives.
  • Analyze corporate donation data and prepare sustainability reports to inform strategy and strengthen partnerships.
  • Contribute to partnership growth by aligning donor engagement, reporting, and advocacy efforts with regional fundraising objectives.

Education and Experience Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of related professional experience in donor relations, partnership management, or a comparable field.
  • Plan, manage, and sustain relationship-based programs, demonstrating strong partner stewardship and donor-centered engagement.
  • Analyze data and prepare insights, applying analytical and sustainability knowledge to inform decisions and strengthen partnerships.
  • Manage multiple projects and priorities, using strong project management, organizational, and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced environment.
  • Utilize technology effectively, including MS Office and donor database systems (Raiser’s Edge an asset), ensuring accurate data entry and record management.
  • Communicate and collaborate professionally, demonstrating exceptional interpersonal, negotiation, customer service, and presentation skills while working effectively in team-oriented environments and adhering to ethical, safety, and organizational standards.

Compensation:

The target hiring range for this position is $58,531.20 to $73,174.40 with a maximum of $87,817.60.

Placement in the salary range will be based on factors such as market conditions, internal equity, and candidate experience, skills, and qualifications relevant to the role.
