About the Opportunity

Reporting to the Assistant Manager, the Utility Worker maintains the cleanliness of the hospital. Activities include cleaning, mopping and dusting all areas in the hospital. Other work would include floor care (scrubbing and waxing floors), shampooing of carpets and chairs, waste removal (hazardous waste and regular waste), chemical spill cleanup, laundry tasks, room set‑ups, window cleaning (interior), some salt application during winter months, isolation room cleaning, flood and blood‑ the spill clean‑ups.

About You

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

  • Grade 12/GED or equivalent work experience required.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Preference will be given to applicants with cleaning and floor care experience.
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred.

Hours

  • Casual Relief Position 3%
  • Shifts are 7:30am‑3:30pm, evening 3:30pm‑11:30pm and backshift 11:30pm‑7:30am, includes weekends and holidays

Compensation and Benefits

$19.26 - $20.02 Hourly

Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package which includes health, dental, travel, long‑term disability, and life insurance coverage as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
