About the role
Join a transforming public REIT and play a key role in strengthening the financial infrastructure of a growing international real estate platform.
Your New Employer
Our client is a publicly listed real estate investment trust that owns and operates a diversified portfolio of commercial real estate assets and select residential properties. The organization is actively rebuilding and strengthening its corporate finance and accounting functions as part of a broader operational transformation and portfolio growth strategy.
This is an opportunity to join a lean, high-impact finance team during a period of significant operational improvement and value creation.
Your New Role
Reporting to the Director of Finance, the Corporate Accounting Manager will play a central role in supporting the organization’s corporate accounting, financial reporting, and operational accounting processes. This position will help strengthen the REIT's accounting infrastructure while ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting across the real estate portfolio.
The Corporate Accounting Manager will support the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes while assisting with the preparation of consolidated financial statements in accordance with IFRS. The role will oversee key schedules related to consolidations, debt, intercompany transactions, and corporate allocations, ensuring reconciliations and supporting documentation are accurate and audit-ready.
Working closely with property accounting teams, the successful candidate will help ensure accurate financial reporting across the portfolio while maintaining familiarity with core real estate accounting concepts, including recoveries, tenant improvements, leasing activity, and property-level reporting. The role will also contribute to improving internal accounting processes, enhancing Excel-based reporting schedules, and helping modernize the organization’s financial reporting infrastructure.
What Sets You Apart
The successful candidate will hold a CPA designation and have 5–8+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally in commercial real estate, property management, or a REIT environment. Strong corporate accounting experience required. Working within a public company or IFRS reporting environment is considered an asset.
Strong technical accounting capabilities are essential, including experience with Yardi accounting software, advanced Excel skills, and the ability to manage complex reconciliations and financial schedules. Familiarity with consolidations, intercompany transactions, and real estate accounting concepts will be important in supporting the organization’s reporting processes.
Equally important are strong personal attributes. The ideal candidate will be hands-on, proactive, and comfortable working in a dynamic environment where processes are being improved and rebuilt. The ability to collaborate across teams, communicate effectively, and mentor junior accounting staff will be key as the finance function continues to grow.
Why Join?
This role offers the opportunity to join a transforming public REIT at a pivotal stage in its operational development. The Corporate Accounting Manager will work directly with senior leadership and gain exposure to a diversified international real estate portfolio.
The position also provides a meaningful opportunity to shape and improve the organization’s accounting processes, reporting schedules, and financial infrastructure as the platform continues to evolve and scale.
