Location: Various Sites in the Victoria area
Position Status: Part-Time, Full-Time and Casual Available
Shifts: Various days, evenings, and overnight shifts
Wage: $20.00/hr - $21.53/hr
Reports to: Site Supervisor/ Client Service Manager

Key Responsibilities:

  • Access Control: Monitor and control access to the facility, ensuring only authorized personnel and visitors enter. Verify identification and issue temporary passes as needed.

  • Patrol Duties: Conduct regular patrols of the premises, to detect and deter any suspicious activity or potential security threats.

  • Surveillance Monitoring: Operate and monitor surveillance systems, including CCTV cameras and alarm systems, to identify and respond to any security breaches.

  • Incident Response: Respond promptly to security incidents, alarms, and emergencies, taking appropriate action to resolve the situation and minimize risk. This includes coordinating with law enforcement or emergency services as required.

  • Report Writing: Prepare detailed and accurate incident reports, daily logs, and other security documentation as needed. Maintain clear communication with supervisors and other security personnel.

  • Customer Service: Provide assistance and guidance to visitors and employees, ensuring a positive experience while maintaining security standards.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Must complete the Commissionaires Security Officer Course

  • Must be able to obtain a Level II (SECRET) security Clearance

  • Must be minimum 19 years of age.

  • Strong observational skills and attention to detail.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to remain calm and composed in high-pressure situations.

  • Proficiency with computers and security technology (e.g., CCTV, access control systems, alarm systems).

  • Physical fitness and ability to perform duties requiring standing, walking, and patrolling for extended periods.

Working Conditions:

  • Shift work, including nights, weekends, and holidays, may be required.

  • Must be able to work in various weather conditions if patrols involve outdoor areas.

  • The position requires standing or walking for extended periods.
