About the role
Job Description:
We currently have an opening for a Junior Environmental Scientist on our Geosciences team in our Calgary office.
Responsibilities include the following:

Participating actively in promoting a strong health and safety culture in the team.

Communicating and coordinating with contractors.
-
Executing field programs, including collecting and analyzing field data from soil, surface and groundwater, water supply well drilling, borehole logging, and hydraulic well tests.

Evaluating data and technical reporting of:
- Groundwater monitoring;
- Aquifer testing;
- Soil sampling;
- Environmental Site Assessments.

Supporting project managers, including developing work plans and project scheduling.
Job Requirements:
What you will bring:
-
Undergraduate (or graduate) degree in geology, geoscience, or environmental science.

Relevant work experience in a related field; consulting experience is preferred.
-
Excellent written and oral communication skills, with technical and non-technical clients and contractors.
-
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with strong time management and organizational skills.
-
Experience working safely in remote areas and extreme environments and weather conditions.
-
Familiarity with Alberta regulations and guidelines.
-
Eligibility to become registered with a professional association (e.g., P. Geo., P.Ag.) is an asset.
