Project Manager (PM1)
About the role
Job Summary
As a Project Manager, you will oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of building science projects from inception to completion. You will use your project management expertise to coordinate people and processes to ensure that our projects are delivered on time and produce the desired results while ensuring quality, safety, and budget adherence. You are the go-to person for everything involving a project’s organization and timeline and will equip your teams with the tools to succeed and evolve through their participation in projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage building envelope projects through all phases of the project lifecycle
- Develop and communicate project scopes and objectives with involvement from all relevant stakeholders while ensuring engineering standards and technical feasibility are adhered to
- Schedule third parties/vendors and internal resources for successful, and timely, execution of project tasks
- Forecast workload and ensuring staff utilization is in line with company expectations
- Provide weekly summaries on active projects to the operations manager and identify any issues, risks or roadblocks
- Communicate with clients on a regular basis
- Present technical material to strata councils – be the liaison between the client and engineers
- Oversee the tendering administration and analysis including third parties and vendor relationship management
- Support the preparation and negotiation of building/development permit packages
Human Resources
- Conduct career planning and performance evaluations for direct reports
- Team motivation and management
Financial
- Development of detailed project plans and budgets to track performance and overall health of the project
- Maintain project profitability and minimize write-offs
Safety
- Be an ambassador for safety on all projects assigned
- Ensure Hazard ID’s are determined before any staff start work on a project
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree from a recognized institution or demonstrated work experience in construction management
- Minimum 5 years of project management experience building envelope or related construction sectors considered an asset
- Proficient in project management processes and best practices and use of project management software
- Strong interpersonal and client management skills
- Experience with formal presentations for public audiences
- Attention to detail and passion for quality
- Managed teams of 2 – 5 personnel
- Understanding of CCDC contracts
- Eligible for CAPM or PMP designation
- Familiarity with building permit application processes across lower mainland municipalities

In compliance with the B.C. Pay Transparency Act, the expected salary range for this position is between $70,000 and $85,000. Multiple factors such as qualifications, overall experience and position responsibilities will be used to determine the successful candidates actual salary within the expected range.
