Senior Data Engineer – Powering Digital Innovation for Alberta's Future

Required Skills:
- 8+ years of experience in data engineering or related roles
- Expertise in designing, building, and maintaining scalable data pipelines
- Strong proficiency with SQL and cloud-based data platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP)
- Hands-on experience with data integration and ETL/ELT processes
- Skilled in programming languages like Python, Java, or Scala
- Knowledge of data modeling, data warehousing, and big data technologies (Spark, Hadoop)
- Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
Nice to Have Skills:
- Experience working with government or public sector data
- Knowledge of metadata management and data governance frameworks
- Familiarity with machine learning and advanced analytics
- Prior experience with modern data orchestration tools (Airflow, Prefect, etc.)
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field
- 10+ years of proven success in data engineering or related roles, with a preference for candidates with a strong track record in large-scale enterprise environments
Other Requirements:
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Willingness to participate in interviews and follow the outlined process
