About the Job
The Registered Nurse:
Provides nursing care to patients, both by working independently and as a member of an interdisciplinary team
Enhances quality of life for the patient and family; consults, confers, and collaborates with other health care providers
Demonstrates continuous improvement and evidence based practice in nursing practice
Maintains and advances own clinical competence
Participates on designated hospital committees/teams and approved research projects as assigned
This is a Relief Part Time (0.79) opportunity until May 31, 2027, or the return of the incumbent.
Shifts of work will be scheduled days from 07:30 to 15:30 and 08:00 to 16:00 hours. On-call rotation attached.

Royal Inland Hospital (RIH) is in the Thompson Cariboo Shuswap health service area and is one of two Interior Health tertiary referral hospitals.
Located in Kamloops, RIH offers high-level, specialty medical care including core physician specialties, 24 emergency and trauma services, ambulatory and outpatient clinics, and diagnostic services. Specialty services include ambulatory psychiatry, elderly mental health, clinical nutrition, and lung health.

Graduation from an approved School of Nursing with current practicing registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM)
Current CPR certification required
Advanced preparation in the clinical specialty of GI Endoscopy as demonstrated by completion of a recognized post-basic education in gastroenterology/GI endoscopy nursing, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
