Alberta Petroleum Marketing Commission (APMC) is a Crown agent established under the Petroleum Marketing Act to enhance the value of Alberta’s petroleum resources. Responsibilities:
- Work closely with key stakeholders from business development, trading, risk, finance, and IT teams to gather and document business requirements.
- Analyze current business processes, facilitate workshops and discovery sessions with business units to gather and validate requirements.
- Lead the end-to-end RFP process, including vendor evaluation and selection, to support the implementation of ETRM system
- Lead the full lifecycle of the ETRM implementation project, including planning, execution, monitoring, and closure.
- Develop and maintain a detailed project plan, including milestones, deliverables, resource allocation, and timelines.
- Coordinate with external vendors, consultants, and internal IT teams to ensure timely delivery of project components.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks and issues, maintaining a risk register and change log.
- Oversee the design and implementation of integrations with Dynamics 365, Petrotranz, Petrinex, and internal systems.
- Manage the configuration and customization of ETRM modules including trade capture, forecasting, settlement, and reporting.
- Ensure data migration, cleansing, and validation activities are completed accurately and on schedule.
- Develop and execute test plans, including unit testing, integration testing, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
- Lead the development and delivery of training programs for end users and support staff.
- Establish and manage project governance, including regular status reporting to the IT Manager and Steering Committee.
- Ensure compliance with APMC and Government of Alberta's IT standards, security policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Support post-implementation activities, including cutover, hypercare, and transition to operations.
Qualifications:
- Preferred: Master’s degree equivalent advanced degree in a related business or technology discipline.
- Required: Bachelor’s degree in a technology-related field (e.g., Computer Science, Information Systems) or equivalent work experience in a senior Project Management capacity.
- 10+ Years of Experience working with C-suite executives and senior management teams, with at least:
- 5+ years of hands-on leadership of complex ETRM projects and a solid grasp of Oil and Gas systems, and applications.
- Knowledge of Financial operations and integration of enterprise application like Microsoft Dynamics 365
- PMP Certification (active and in good standing)
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of ETRM and Financial systems
- Strong understanding of energy trading, crude oil marketing, and risk management processes
- Deep understanding of the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Skilled in tools such as Jira, MS Project, Planner, Excel, Power BI, and MS Office.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience working in high-pressure, cross-functional project environments.
Preferred Skills
- Experience working with or integrating systems like Petrotranz and Petrinex
- Experience with government or Crown corporations
- Familiarity with regulatory reporting in Alberta’s energy sector
