The CanCap Group (“CanCap”) is a privately-owned Canadian national financial services company with multiple verticals across automotive, consumer, and merchant lending portfolios. We manage the entire lifecycle of the finance receivable from credit adjudication through contract administration, customer service, default management and post charge-off recoveries.

We are currently looking for an experienced individual with exceptional multi-tasking and interpersonal skills to join our team on a temporary basis for the duration of the project.
What your day and week could look like
The Senior Verification Specialist is accountable for handling escalations revolving around discrepancies for Current Account Signing Authorities. This Senior Investigations Officer will assess, conduct in-depth investigations, research and make decisions in order to determine next steps.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyzing and understanding current account signing authority files to solve for complex request and escalations
- Expedite resolution to issues using independent judgement and analytical thinking to conduct research using multiple systems to process demands.
- Acts as a primary point of contact to advise and consult with internal and external clients and ensure internal controls/legal requirements are properly maintained
- Conduct in-depth research using multiple systems to determine the nature of problems, and provide guidance and support
- Keep informed on all changes to documented procedures, rules and regulations to ensure accurate processing of documents
- Prioritize daily work requests and identify/escalate issue that require further analysis or investigation
- Assist with continuous improvement initiatives, document, revise and update procedures in response to changes and/or improvements
What you bring to the role:
- 2 years of experience in a similar senior verification/ quality role
- Experience in case management and escalations within a financial services environment Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate in a clear, concise and professional manner
- Strong problem-solving techniques, with the ability to take ownership, ask relevant questions and define the root cause of the inquiry/concern of internal stakeholders in order to generate solutions.
- Comprehensive ability to analyze complex problems and develop alternatives or solutions, Persistent - follows tasks through to conclusion
- Possess strong interpersonal skills sufficient to establish and maintain good working relationships
- Well organized with excellent time management skills
