The AI and SharePoint Training Specialist is a vital member of the Productivity Systems (PSys) team, responsible for educating Strathcona County staff on digital tools and technologies including Microsoft 365, SharePoint, AI, and other enterprise platforms. This role designs and delivers training in various formats to support digital literacy and simplify complex technical concepts for users of all skill levels. By staying current with emerging technologies and collaborating closely with the PSys team, this position fosters a culture of continuous learning and innovation across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create and maintain training courses for a variety of audiences, skill levels, and technology platforms
- Assess training needs by analyzing user trends, gathering feedback, consulting with team members, and referencing industry best practices to identify knowledge gaps
- Create engaging and accessible training materials tailored to various delivery formats, including virtual, hybrid, and in person sessions
- Align training content with County policies and initiatives to support inclusive, accessible, and relevant learning experiences for all staff
- Plan and schedule training sessions to ensure accessibility for staff, considering availability, preferred formats, and operational needs
- Evaluate training effectiveness using surveys and other feedback tools to assess learner understanding and identify areas for improvement
- Become the expert on technology platforms by staying up to date on changes, new features, and industry best practices
- Maintain awareness of technical issues by engaging with the team on potential outages and known problems Create clear, user-friendly documentation for common issues explaining technical solutions to non-technical users of various skill levels
Qualifications and Skills:
- Degree in Education, Business Administration, or a related field with a minimum of 3 years experience in a training or education environment or a Diploma a in a related field with a minimum of 5 years directly related experience
- Experience designing and delivering adult education in hybrid environments
- Experience working in a Microsoft-based environment
- Familiarity with AI integrations is an asset
- ITIL Foundation Certification is an asset
- Ability to develop learning outcomes based on user needs and knowledge gaps
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to diverse audiences
- Skilled in building relationships and collaborating with stakeholders across departments Strong analytical, planning, organizational, evaluation, and problem-solving abilities
