About the role

Position Overview

EnerStar is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Sales Manager to lead and scale its revenue growth across Legacy Oilfield Rentals and Commercial Starlink services. This leader will not only oversee sales strategy and execution across the U.S. and Canada but will also act as a strategic market leader, transforming customer and field insights into actionable business strategies. The ideal candidate will combine strategic vision with hands-on sales coaching, process discipline, and a deep understanding of industrial services and asset-intensive operations.

Location: Calgary AB or Medicine Hat AB (Canada)

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Sales Leadership & Execution

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive multi-year sales plan across all product lines: Accommodations, Power, Starlink, Rentals, and Containment.
  • Translate corporate growth goals into territory targets, team quotas, and regional action plans.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and lead weekly pipeline reviews to ensure forecasting accuracy and revenue predictability.
  • Develop and implement strategies to penetrate new markets, grow share within existing accounts, and identify opportunities for bundling services to increase deal size and customer lifetime value.

Team Leadership & Talent Development

  • Lead and manage a multi-layer sales team, including Regional Sales Reps, SDRs, and Account Managers.
  • Recruit, onboard, and coach top-tier sales talent, fostering a culture of accountability, urgency, and customer obsession.
  • Implement robust 30-60-90 day onboarding and ramp plans for new hires.
  • Conduct weekly one-on-one meetings with sales representatives to provide feedback, strategy, and support, while also identifying and developing a future leadership pipeline within the sales organization.

Sales Process & CRM Excellence

  • Design and enforce a structured sales process from lead generation to contract close.
  • Ensure full utilization of the CRM system for opportunity tracking, activity logging, and forecasting.
  • Establish clear activity standards for prospecting, meetings, proposals, and follow-ups to drive consistent results.
  • Partner with SDRs to create seamless lead handoff processes and pipeline conversion expectations.

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Market Intelligence

  • Serve as the "voice of the customer" by providing market feedback to influence product development, pricing strategies, and operational delivery.
  • Work closely with operations, marketing, and finance to align sales success with delivery capability and brand positioning.
  • Collaborate with key leaders to ensure the sales strategy is aligned with broader company objectives and initiatives.

Customer Engagement & Market Visibility

  • Engage personally with top-tier clients and prospects as an executive sponsor.

  • Represent EnerStar at trade shows, regional conferences, and industry events to build key relationships and enhance market visibility.

Required Skills & Attributes

  • 5–10+ years of progressive B2B sales leadership experience, with a proven track record in oilfield services, industrial sectors, or other asset-intensive environments.

  • Demonstrated ability to build, scale, and inspire high-performing sales teams across multi-regional markets.

  • Strong understanding of the sales cycle for field-based services and a passion for leveraging technology and data to drive results.

  • Strong financial acumen, with the ability to drive profitable growth by managing sales budgets, forecasting expenses, and negotiating contracts that protect company margins.

  • Exceptional resilience and emotional intelligence to lead and motivate a team through high-pressure situations and market fluctuations.

  • Deep familiarity with CRM systems (Salesforce, HubSpot, Pipedrive) and data-driven sales management.

  • A mindset for continuous process improvement, consistently seeking to optimize sales workflows and methodologies as the business scales.

  • Excellent coaching, communication, and executive presence, with a demonstrated ability to build strategic industry partnerships and enhance the company's market presence.

  • Ability to thrive in an entrepreneurial, fast-paced, and growth-oriented environment.

Reporting & Travel

  • Reporting Line: Reports to the COO / President and collaborates closely with the leadership team.
  • Travel & Field Time: Up to 40–50% travel across North America for team support and customer engagement.
