Help shape a thriving Grades 8–12 community where students are known, supported, and inspired to grow.

As Vice Principal, you will work closely with the Senior School Principal to support student life, guide the culture of the division, and help ensure the Senior School remains a place where students feel known, supported, and challenged to grow.

As the school continues to grow and evolve, the Vice Principal will play a key role in supporting the daily life and culture of the Senior School. Working closely with the Senior School Principal — and as part of the broader leadership structure that includes the Deputy Head of School and Head of School — the Vice Principal helps ensure that students feel known, supported, and challenged to grow.

This is a highly relational role for an educational leader who enjoys working closely with students and faculty while helping guide the rhythms and culture of a vibrant school community.

The Role

The Vice Principal contributes to the life of the Senior School across three interconnected areas:student life, co-curricular engagement, and academic support.

Supporting Student Life and Advisory

A central part of the role is strengthening the systems and relationships that ensure every student is known and supported.

  • The Vice Principal helps guide theGrades 8–12 advisory program, supporting faculty advisors and ensuring advisory remains a meaningful space for mentorship, reflection, and connection.

  • The role also supports the daily rhythm of student life — including attendance, supervision, and student wellbeing processes — working closely with student support teams to coordinate timely and thoughtful support when challenges arise.

  • Through a restorative and relational approach, the Vice Principal helps ensure expectations remain clear and consistent while encouraging student voice and leadership across the Senior School.

Co-Curricular Life and Community Engagement

At Queen Margaret’s School, learning extends well beyond the classroom.

  • The Vice Principal supports the coordination and development ofco-curricular opportunities across Grades 8–12, including clubs, athletics, arts, service learning, outdoor education, and leadership initiatives.

  • The role also contributes to the planning ofassemblies, ceremonies, performances, and school eventsthat strengthen the sense of connection within the Senior School community.

Supporting the Academic Life of the Senior School

  • Working alongside the Senior School Principal and faculty, the Vice Principal supports the academic life of the division.

  • This includes monitoring student progress and attendance, coordinating early support for students when needed, and assisting with key academic processes such as timetabling, reporting cycles, course selection, and examinations.

  • The Vice Principal also helps supportexperiential and project-based learning initiativesand contributes to faculty collaboration and professional growth, helping sustain a culture of reflection and excellence in teaching.
