The Role

As a member of the technical services team, you will report to the chief engineer, electrical and instrumentation.

In this role, you will:

  • Prepare key electrical engineering project documents including drawings, specifications, data sheets, bid and construction documents
  • Develop scope, plans, and capital cost estimates
  • Provide technical oversight for work completed by external engineering consultants
  • Be responsible for ensuring that the design work is done in accordance with Cameco’s processes, procedures, standards and regulatory requirements
  • Be responsible for developing and integrating electrical design standards for use on all major projects and mentoring junior electrical engineers and designers
  • Be required to multitask and prioritize including taking initiative to independently drive projects forward

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering
  • 7 to twelve years of progressive experience in field of electrical engineering design in milling and underground mining operations
  • A wide knowledge in various aspects of electrical engineering, including high and medium voltage installations, electrical system modelling (ETAP), feasibility studies, detailed design and the application of CSA M421
  • Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills
  • Eligible for registration with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Saskatchewan (APEGS) and/or with Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO)
  • Occasional travel to northern mine site locations and commute to site by aircraft
