Position Summary
The Venue Services Supervisor is a member of the Venue Services Team, responsible for leadership and promotion, training and implementation of excellent customer service in the day-to-day administration and operation of the Venue Services department.
This position involves the coaching and scheduling employees, set-up and tear-out of events, budget management and ensuring that facilities are safe and ready to use.
These positions are casual-part-time positions that will require the successful candidates to work flexible hours throughout the week and on weekends.
We are hiring for multiple positions under this requisition.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:
- Exemplifying, and training team members to provide exceptional customer service to foster a world-class, year-round gathering place.
- Lead safety and environmental efforts in Calgary Stampede venues.
- Train, coordinate, lead and motivate the Venue Services team.
- Contribute to new employee orientation and on-boarding within department.
- Formulate and implement new service initiatives.
- Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and ensure facilities are ready for customers.
- Act as the liaison between the Venue Services Manager, venue staff, customers and patrons.
- Provide updates for the Venue Services Manager regarding all facility functions and operations.
- Assist in the set-up and tear-out of events and operate motorized vehicles and equipment.
- Perform administrative tasks, including time sheets and payroll, ordering supplies, completing assigned reports and documents and scheduling staff, as required.
- Assist in the control and management of annual departmental budgets.
- Preventative maintenance programs and building life safety with staff and guests for fire regulations.
Qualifications
- Superior customer service skills and consistently demonstrates professionalism.
- Two years of building housekeeping and maintenance experience.
- Two years Supervisory experience.
- Excellent communication and time management skills with the ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner with the ability to prioritize.
- Experience in designing and delivering/ presenting training
- Ability to multitask and meet strict deadlines in a fast paced environment.
- Must demonstrate social awareness and communicate with tack and diplomacy.
- Experience in the operation of motorized vehicles and equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, man lifts, walk-behind scrubbers, ride-on scrubbers, sweepers, tractors and skid steers is preferred.
- Must possess a valid Class 5 driver’s license.
- Experience with MS Office Suite (Excel and Word).
- Knowledge of the EBMS system is an asset.
