**IAM Advisor (12 month contract)

Location: Vancouver, BC / Hybrid

Staffing Placement Opportunity** General Description The Identity and Access Management (IAM) team is seeking an experienced IAM Advisor to support approvals for IAM-related ServiceNow tickets and provide subject matter expertise (SME) for Entra ID and Active Directory.

The IT Cyber Security Consultant (Level 2) is responsible for reducing and mitigating security risks to protect critical information infrastructure and ensuring compliance with digital technology and cybersecurity regulations and policies.

Experience And Role Accountabilities

  • Minimum five (5) years of experience in Information Technology, with at least three (3) years in cybersecurity or equivalent.
  • Identify potential cybersecurity risks and incidents by performing vulnerability assessments, coordinating with internal teams and stakeholders, and monitoring external events and security logs to prepare for possible contingencies.
  • Determine remediation options and recommend solutions by analyzing security test results, validating baseline security configurations, and assessing the impact of risks across operating systems, applications, networking tools, and telecommunications equipment.
  • Provide support during and after critical systems incidents such as breaches, outages, or unexpected activities by documenting incidents and collaborating with incident response leads to implement consistent response plans.
  • Support business groups in defining and delivering security requirements, testing, and implementation activities, ensuring new systems and devices transition smoothly from project to operations with strengthened cybersecurity.
  • Guide IT projects on cybersecurity requirements by conducting compliance impact assessments and collaborating with project managers to ensure best practices are applied.
  • Contribute to the creation and maintenance of organizational cybersecurity standards and guidelines by developing threat detection analytics, enhancing controls, and reviewing event and security data for continuous improvement.

Education and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer Science, Information Security, or equivalent.

  • Certifications in one or more of the following are considered an asset:

  • CISSP, CRISC, CISA, CISM, GCIH, GPEN

  • Strong technical knowledge and hands-on experience in areas such as:

  • IT Processes: Internet policy enforcement, network architecture, Active Directory, vulnerability scanning, penetration testing, configuration management, asset management, encryption, monitoring, auditing, and log management.
  • Security Technologies: Intrusion prevention/detection, SIEM, VPN, NGFW/WAF, database monitoring, PKI, DLP, IAM solutions.
  • Industry Standards: ISO 27001/2, NIST, BC FIPPA, NERC CIP, COBIT.
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance for a Security Sensitive classification.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for a professional environment. Work Assignment Requirements:
  • This is an on-site role; remote candidates will not be considered.
  • The IAM team requires an experienced IAM/Cybersecurity Advisor to support ServiceNow ticket approvals.
  • SME experience in Entra ID
  • SME experience in Active Directory
  • Privileged Access Management (PAM) experience
  • Identity Governance and Administration (IGA) experience
