About the role

Position: PLANS: Physical Literacy with Arts, Nature and Science ECD

Position: PLANS: Physical Literacy with Arts, Nature and Science ECD Facilitator

Hours per week: Mondays 6 hours/week x 10 weeks in the Spring and Fall

Wage: Reflective of education and experience

Reports To: ECD Team Leader

PLANS is an outdoor early childhood program that fosters children’s independence, confidence, and resilience through creative group experiences. Families participate rain or shine, supporting physical and emotional wellness. Please note: this role involves moderate physical activity in an outdoor setting.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Provide outreach services to promote program and recruit participants.

  • Plan and implement lessons and play activities for children aged 2- 5 years of age.

  • Create a positive and supportive play/learning environment.

  • Promote cross-cultural sharing among group members.

  • Shop and provide nutritious snacks for the children.

  • Connect and foster relationships with Professionals in the community.

  • Utilize the Penelope Case Management Software to capture client data.

  • Contribute evaluation and reporting data collection to Team Leader.

  • Work on and off-site as programming dictates.

  • Participate in workshops and professional trainings.

  • Perform other related duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • BA in a relevant field or ECE License to practice preferred.
  • Knowledge of child growth and development from birth – 6 years.
  • Strong interpersonal skills; ability to build relationships with a diverse range of people.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Criminal Record Check required.
  • Current First Aid and Crisis Intervention certification.
  • Use of a vehicle is required.
