What you will do:
The VP of Media Sales Operations will oversee and optimize the strategic and operational aspects of the Media Sales team, ensuring the effective execution of sales strategies, processes, and performance metrics. This leadership role is responsible for driving sales efficiency, managing cross-functional teams, and utilizing data and analytics to enhance decision-making. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in media sales strategy, ad tech, data, operational excellence, and/or team leadership, with a focus on driving revenue growth and improving overall sales performance.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the continuous improvement and optimization of the sales operations processes, platforms, and vendors, ensuring the team has the tools, data, and training needed to meet or exceed performance targets.
- Managing inventory pricing and allocation strategies to drive maximum revenue
- Lead sales forecasting, budgeting, and reporting to ensure accurate projections and timely communication of results to senior leadership.
- Oversee development of demographic customer profile, to be used in planning, reporting, and customer segmentation work
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key vendors and platforms, ensuring a fulsome understanding of the ad tech space and optimal utilization of tools to drive business results
- Lead and manage the Media sales operations team, fostering a high-performance culture, and providing mentorship, coaching, and career development opportunities.
- Continuously evaluate and optimize sales processes, workflows, automations and technology platforms to optimize operations to drive efficiency and profitability.
Key qualifications:
- Post-secondary degree in a relevant field and/or extensive experience (15+ years) in Media Sales Operations, Sales, or a related discipline.
- 10+ years of progressive leadership experience, including 5+ years at the executive level, with a track record of driving sales performance, operational efficiency, and company-wide strategic initiatives.
- Demonstrated success in managing and scaling sales operations teams within Media or advertising organizations, particularly in high-growth or complex environments.
- Proven ability to design and implement sales strategies that align with business objectives and market dynamics.
- Strong financial acumen with experience in budget management, forecasting, and long-range sales planning.
- Advanced expertise in data analytics, leveraging insights to optimize sales processes, improve performance, and inform strategic decisions.
- Skilled collaborator with experience leading cross-functional initiatives with Sales, Marketing, Finance, and Product teams.
- In-depth knowledge of sales technologies and ad tech platforms, including Salesforce, Tableau, and programmatic tools.
