Job Title: Technical Services Representative Department: Cement Division- Sales and Marketing
Reports To: Technical Services Manager
Location: Toronto Head Office (with travel across Ontario)
Position Summary As a Cement Technical Services Representative, you will be the trusted technical spokesperson for our sales team, industry stakeholders, and customers — delivering expert guidance, innovative solutions, and quality assurance for cement and concrete applications. You’ll combine deep technical knowledge with strong relationship-building skills to promote our products, support customer success, and drive sustainable growth in the Ontario market.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert assistance on cement and concrete performance, troubleshooting, and optimization.
- To serve as a role model in the areas of leadership, teamwork, customer focus, continuous improvement, safety, and environmental stewardship to ensure alignment with the company’s vision and critical success factors.
- Implement quality control testing and quality control programs for customers (i.e., mix design enhancements).
- Promotes and protects cement and concrete products through high profile participation in industry association and specification committees as well as other related organizations.
- Performs testing of concrete and cement, examine and analyze various building systems where concrete may be used, and sample gathering for concrete, cementing materials and aggregates.
- Identify opportunities for internal product quality enhancements aligned with evolving customer needs.
- Manages special projects related to technical aspects of product development in assistance of marketing efforts.
- Monitors slag operation and quality of slag granules for production of ground granulated blast furnace slag (GGBFS)
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree (B. A.) in Engineering from university with related experience.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with data analysis tools and digital collaboration platforms.
- Eligibility for Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation in Ontario.
- American Concrete Institute (ACI) Grade I Certification (or ability to obtain within first year).
- Valid Ontario driver’s license; willingness to travel extensively to job sites, plants, and industry events.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts for diverse audiences.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety, sustainability, and customer service excellence.
