Position Information**:**
Corporate Training Services is seeking an innovative and enthusiastic individual to join our Corporate Training Services team as an Automotive In-Dealership Trainer for the GM Canada Central Sales Region.
Reporting to the Account Manager GM Projects, and under the direction and supervision of the GM Central Region Sales Manager, the Automotive In-dealership Trainer develops and delivers targeted training programs for sales employees of select GM Dealerships within the Central Region. Using various learning aides, the Trainer delivers high-quality training sessions, in the dealership, to raise the level of product knowledge and selling skills of the GM Canada dealer personnel.
The responsibilities of the Automotive In-Dealer Trainer include but are not limited to:
- Have extensive knowledge of General Motors vehicles and competitive products.
- Remaining current with ongoing developments within the Canadian car and light-duty truck market including technological advancements and EVs.
- Applying highly effective presentation skills for live and virtual deliveries.
- Creating a positive learning environment that accommodates the diverse culture of the client audience.
- Utilizing principles of adult education to actively engage participants in the learning process.
- Working collaboratively with the Account Manager GM Projects and General Motors’ Regional and District Sales Managers to develop program content, goals and KPIs.
- Developing reports, summaries, and evaulations for all dealership engagements that outline key strengths and opportunities for improvement.
- Proactively scheduling training sessions with dealer contacts.
- Solicit and, when possible, accommodate dealership level feedback on training content and delivery format to maximize training impact.
- Delivering engaging training programs using presentation software and hands-on vehicle demonstrations for live and virtual sessions.
- Communicating effectively with participants, clients and the program team.
- Manage logistics of training vehicle access for research and dealership training events.
- Travelling across the Central Sales Region on an ongoing basis with some overnight travel required. .
- Travelling to Whitby, Ontario regularly to participate in new program development activities and client meetings.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of five years General Motors Dealership experience or related experience in an automotive sales and/or fixed ops environment.
- Training experience for corporate clients with demonstrated highly effective presentation skills for live and virtual deliveries.
- Experience in the development of training materials.
- Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office (both PC and MAC), Keynote, and Pages.
- Extensive knowledge of General Motors vehicles and the competition.
- Knowledge of current and ongoing developments within the Canadian car and light-duty truck market including technological advancements and EVs.
- Holds a valid G Driver’s license.
- Demonstrates above-average verbal and written communication skills.
- Diploma or Certificate in adult education is an asset.
- Bilingual in English and French is an asset.
