Transportation Technician
About the role
As a Transport Technician at Groupe Touchette, you will support and coordinate transportations day to day tasks across Canada. His/Her support will help control transportation costs and streamline critical processes. Primary goal is to improve carrier relations to maximize return on lost tire claims and reduce number of lost tire claims for each carrier.
Principal responsibilities
- Lost Tire Claim Process
- File claims with all carriers at a National Level
- Weekly Reporting on Lost Tire KPIs (age of claims, Approved vs Rejected etc)
- Freight Audit and Pay Exceptions
- Handle invoice disputes flagged by freight auditor
- SAP Route Management
- Create new routes, maintain current routes to ensure accurate ETA to customers in Hybris
- Maintain maps of delivery routes for each warehouse
- Freight Contractors
- Maintain relationship with Freight Contractors in Central Region
- Coordinate booking orders in Central Region when Freight Contractors required
- Special Projects/Reports/Tasks:
- Complete as per business needs
Success factors
- High school diploma required; post-secondary education in logistics or a related field is an asset
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a transportation or logistics role, preferably in a distribution or warehouse environment
- Proficiency in SAP and Office 365
- Familiarity with Maptive or similar route-mapping tools
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced setting
