Hiring an Open Science Community Officer for the Tanenbaum Open Science Institute.
The Montreal Neurological Institute-Hospital (The Neuro) is the first health-research institution in the world to fully embrace Open Science at the institutional level. The Tanenbaum Open Science Institute (TOSI) has been created to drive that paradigm shift, with a dual mission of (1) enhancing full implementation of The Neuro’s Open Science Guiding Principles within The Neuro and (2) encouraging and incentivizing the national and global academic community to embrace and adopt Open Science.
Reporting to the CEO of TOSI, the TOSI Open Science Community Officer assists TOSI’s CEO in the operational coordination of the TOSI team and lead TOSI’s efforts to foster a community of institutional stakeholders to change the research culture within The Neuro towards one where Open Science is the norm for all engaged into research practice.
The Open Science Community Officer will be the primary point person and liaison between TOSI and Neuro stakeholders. The goal is to foster a community that promotes Open Science within The Neuro through engagement with researchers formally and informally to understand and record their needs and attitudes, facilitating training and knowledge sharing through events (e.g., hackathons, webinars, and seminars), and identifying and promoting the use of virtual spaces for knowledge sharing.
