Senior IT Change Manager

Hiring: Senior IT Change Manager Location: Edmonton, Alberta, Remote Duration: August 3, 2026 – May 14, 2027 Hourly Rate: $85/hour - $105/hour (based on experience) Client: Public Sector Responsibilities: The Change Manager works with internal groups and creates strategies and content to effectively manage change deliverables that will enable impacted stakeholders to successfully transition from their current state to the future state. Reporting to the Director – OPGT Service Delivery this position is responsible for documenting, communicating, coordinating, and executing organizational change.
The Change Management Specialist understands all aspects of the project delivery and software development lifecycles.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: Collaborate with project sponsors, operational teams, vendors, cross-functional teams, trainers, and change management community to ensure all project activities are completed. Collaborate with Program Manager in the development of project schedule plans and strategies, estimate resource requirements, develop and monitor work plans for completion of project tasks. Assist with risk management and issues management Build and deliver presentations relating to change management for various levels of the organization (Executive, Branch, etc.). Plan and facilitate meetings with management and other stakeholders as required. Assess and manage key stakeholders. Conduct change impact analysis. Develop and implement effective change plans. Develop and implement effective communication plans. Develop communication materials. Develop and implement resistance management plans. Ensure information is communicated to impacted audiences throughout the duration of the project/program. Define and measure success metrics and monitor change progress. Identify risks and issues relating to change management functions. Conduct readiness assessments. Ensure new technology solutions or applications are rolled out successfully and in a sustainable way. Writing compelling copy to create engaging communications. Understand the role of communication in change management - working to reposition organizational change and end user needs and expectations.
Must Haves: Minimum 1 year demonstrated experience working as an Organizational Change Manager on at least 1 complex technology/software application project. Minimum 8 years’ experience developing change management deliverables (e.g., Change Strategy and Plans, Readiness Assessment, Resistance Management Plan, Change Impact Analysis, Impact Assessments, etc) Minimum 5 years’ experience developing effective communication materials for stakeholders. Minimum 1 year demonstrated experience working as an Organizational Change Manager on at least 1 project in a large organization or public service environment, impacting 100+ staff. Minimum 5 years’ experience defining and measuring project change success metrics and progress. Minimum 5 years’ experience developing and delivering communications and presentations at multiple levels of an organization. (eg. Executive Management, Management, Program Sponsors, Steering Committee, Branch Managers, End Users) Minimum 5 years’ experience developing effective communication deliverables (e.g., communication plans, schedules and strategies, etc). Minimum 5 years’ experience fostering effective working relationships with leadership and stakeholders. Minimum 5 years’ experience in change risk management. Minimum 5 years’ experience leading and facilitating meetings with stakeholders at all levels. Minimum 1 year experience using MS Office 2016 products or higher versions. Minimum 1 year experience working in or for the public sector. Minimum 1 year experience working with or testing Microsoft Dynamics 365 solutions (CRM, Finance) or similar platforms.
