About the role
We are seeking a Senior Embedded Firmware Engineer to join a fast-paced engineering team developing next-generation smart cameras. In this role, you will design and develop embedded firmware for solar-powered, cellular-connected devices while contributing to the evolution of the embedded platform architecture. Working closely with hardware, AI, software, and product teams, you will help deliver high-performance, reliable, and scalable embedded solutions from prototype to production.
Main Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain embedded firmware for smart camera platforms using C and Embedded Linux. Contribute to the architecture of the embedded platform, including low-level software layers, device drivers, system services, and hardware abstraction. Design and implement interfaces between firmware, hardware, and software components, including AI, imaging, networking, and security modules. Integrate and validate new SoCs, image sensors, peripherals, and hardware components while ensuring system stability and compatibility. Perform hands-on debugging, instrumentation, performance analysis, and validation using hardware prototypes in a laboratory environment. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize system performance, reliability, power consumption, and overall product quality throughout the development lifecycle.
Qualifications
8+ years of experience in embedded firmware development with expert-level proficiency in C and Embedded Linux (kernel-space development). Strong experience with Yocto or custom Linux distributions, including image creation, BSP customization, library integration, and platform adaptation. Solid expertise in low-level embedded development, including device drivers, memory management, boot processes, and hardware communication protocols such as I2C, SPI, UART, GPIO, and RTC. Deep understanding of embedded processors, microcontrollers, SoCs, and hardware/software integration within complex embedded systems. Proven ability to work autonomously while integrating new features into large, complex codebases and solving challenging technical problems. Experience with image sensors, camera systems, or image capture technologies is considered a strong asset, along with excellent collaboration and problem-solving skills.
