The Position:

The Palliser Facilities Department

invites applications for Full-Time Temporary/Casual Summer Maintenance Labourers (40

hours per week) at our Lethbridge Administration Office – Palliser Facilities

Shop & Vulcan Facilities Shop.

These are temporary/casual positions

from May 4, 2026, to August 28, 2026 (start and end dates are negotiable).

Preference will be given to post-secondary students.

Position duties will include:

  • Assist

    in providing lawn care;

  • Assist

    in providing care and maintenance to all flowers and plants (seasonal and

    annual);

  • Assist

    in picking up garbage at sites;

  • Assist

    in sweeping sidewalks;

  • Follow

    all health & safety regulations, including wearing appropriate

    protective equipment;

  • Operate

    motorized equipment (gators, quads, trucks, trimmers, lawn mowers);

  • Assist

    Maintenance Staff;

  • Complete

    work directives as required;

  • Complete

    time cards with hours worked;

  • The

    ability to lift up to 50 lbs. is a requirement of the position.

Eligible applicants must have

the following:

  • Be

    a Canadian citizen, a permanent resident, or protected person under the

    Canadian and legally entitled to work

    and study in Canada;

  • Reside

    in Alberta with an Alberta address;

  • Are

    available for full-time summer employment;

  • Are

    not currently employed in the organization;

  • The

    candidate must be able to work Monday to Friday, from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM;

  • Travel

    is required (vehicle provided). A

    valid driver’s license with a clean abstract is required.

In order to maintain a safe and secure working

environment, applicants new to The Palliser School Division must provide:

  • Criminal

    Record Check, including vulnerable sector check from Local Police Service

    or RCMP detachment;

  • Social

    Insurance Number (SIN) card or document issued by Service Canada; SIN

    card/document must be in current legal name. Name on SIN

    card/document must match your Government Issued ID and Criminal Record

    Check;

  • Government

    issued ID - valid driver's license, valid passport or Nexus card.

The Palliser Regional Schools is a school jurisdiction located in southern Alberta. The geographical area stretches from just south of Lethbridge to the Bow River south of Calgary. Palliser Centre houses the Central Office Administration, Maintenance and Transportation Services and is located in the City of Lethbridge. In addition, a satellite Maintenance Shop has been set up in the Town of Vulcan. The division offers full public education services to approximately 8,1000 students from early childhood services through Grade 12. Palliser has 15 community schools, 17 Hutterian colony schools, 10 Christian alternative schools, nine of which are in Calgary on seven different campuses, four outreach programs, an online school, and two dedicated Low German Mennonite alternative programs. One of our outreach schools and a junior high in one of our community schools also serve the LGM community.
