Group Division:
For more than 45 years, Arrow Off Road Guelph division has been a supplier of choice for OEM customers in the Material Handling, Rail, Construction, Forestry, Agriculture, Mining, and Defense industries. With operations in both Canada and China, our focus is on safety, quality, delivery, cost, and the environment. Our mission of good parts on time, along with strong customer relationships and company performance, will continue our history of growth.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Maintaining a clean and safe work area while operating equipment according to established procedures.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, charts and tables or study sample parts to determine machining operation to be performed
- Compute dimensions and tolerances and measure and lay out work pieces
- Operate and maintain a variety of machine tools including computer numerically controlled (CNC) tools to perform precision, non-repetitive machining operations such as turning, milling, boring, drilling and other operations
- Complete change-over activities (Machine preparation from previous job set-up to new job set-up)
- Complete manufacturing of first part per process instruction
- Verify dimensions of machined parts for accuracy and conformance to specifications using micrometers, verniers, calipers, height gauges or other specialized measuring instruments.
- Report deviations from specifications and tolerances to supervisor and lead hands.
- Document completion of all required processes and record production in Barcoding system
- Troubleshoot parts when issues occur.
- Communicating critical information to supervisor and oncoming shifts including quality concerns, tooling issues, maintenance concerns and production requirements.
- Understanding and have functional use of CNC code and CNC programming
- Setting and loading all tools in conjunction with set-up instructions to complete assigned jobs
- Other duties as required.
Educational Requirements:
- Completion of secondary school or equivalent with experience in CNC machining operations.
Required Skills & Expertise:
- Knowledge of Machining methods, cutting qualities of metal and tools
- Ability to reach and understand blueprints and technical drawings
- G&M code fluency and ability to edit programs
- Understanding of GD&T
- Experience using measuring tools and gauges
- Experience with Fanuc Controls
- Familiar with SPC
Equipment/ Tools/ Technology Used:
- Able to use grinders, jib cranes and related lifting attachment, and handheld equipment that may be necessary to the job
- Follow written instructions when completing a work order to barcode production
