About the role
The Vice President, Strategic Accounts is a key executive leadership role responsible for overseeing the global strategic account management function at Hammond Power Solutions. This position provides strategic direction, leadership, and enterprise-wide oversight to a team of Strategic Account Managers, ensuring alignment with corporate growth objectives, market expansion priorities and long-term customer success. The VP Strategic Accounts plays a pivotal role in driving global revenue growth, expanding key customer relationships, and delivering high-impact solutions across key markets segments.
Key Responsibilities Leadership & Vision
- Define, lead and execute the strategic account management plan, ensuring alignment with HPS’s long-term business goals, commercial, and market strategy.
- Collaborates with CCO on individual and departmental KPI’s and strategy
- Champion innovation and continuous improvement, ensuring the strategic accounts function evolves with market demands and customer expectations.
- Provides sales forecasts for global accounts supporting demand planning efforts in collaboration with supply chain and manufacturing to ensure accurate production alignment.
- Leads, mentors, and develops a high-performing team of Strategic Account Managers. Establishes performance metrics, provides coaching, and fosters a culture of accountability and excellence.
Global Customer Strategy
- Oversees the development and execution of global account strategies for top-tier customers. Ensures consistency in customer engagement, pricing, and service delivery across platform portfolios.
- Builds and maintains executive-level relationships with key global customers.
- Act as a senior escalation point and strategic advisor to ensure long-term partnership success.
- Provides insights to global market trends, through customer feedback, and monitoring of competitive activity. Along with Marketing, develops actionable strategies in commercialization of product/service innovations.
Revenue Growth & Business Development
- Drives profitable revenue growth within strategic accounts through account planning, opportunity identification, and expansion of existing accounts.
- Collaborate with regional sales leaders to align efforts.
Cross-Functional & Global Collaboration
- Coordinates with internal teams across engineering, operations, marketing, and regional sales to ensure seamless service delivery and consistent global support.
- Serves as the voice of the customer internally, providing feedback to product development and marketing teams. Monitors industry trends and competitive activity to inform strategy.
- Collaborates with operations and manufacturing teams to align customer sales forecasts with production planning and delivery schedules.
Reporting & Performance Management
- Establishes KPIs and reporting frameworks to track account performance, customer satisfaction, and team effectiveness.
- Presents regular updates to executive leadership.
Qualifications Education: Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Business or Engineering preferred.
Experience: Minimum 10 years in global sales, strategic account management, or business development within the electrical, power distribution, or industrial automation sectors.
- 5+ years in senior leadership roles (e.g., Director, Global Accounts; VP Sales; Regional GM) with direct accountability for revenue growth and customer strategy.
- Proven success in leading global teams across multiple regions and time zones.
- Experience managing multinational customer portfolios, with deep understanding of global market dynamics, cultural nuances, and international business practices.
- Deep understanding of transformers, power quality products, and custom magnetics
- Experience working with OEMs, utilities, EPCs, and global distribution networks
- Familiarity with global supply chains, compliance standards, and regional market dynamics
- Proven ability to lead and scale global sales teams
- Strong executive presence and stakeholder management skills
- Strategic account management with a track record of delivering sustainable and profitable growth
- Ability to interpret technical specifications and guide solution development
- Expertise in contract negotiation, pricing strategy, and commercial risk management
- Proficiency in use of CRM (e.g., D365), ERP systems, and data analytics tools
