Blackbird Interactive is looking for a 3D Generalist with experience in levels and characters to join our smaller team. You'll model and texture assets, including environment art, level kit, props and a few characters for an exciting Survival Horror Game. If you like working on grounded, realistic environments in a gritty, story-driven interactive experience, this is the position for you!
We’re looking for someone with at least 3 years video game Art Production experience for this role.
Responsibilities
- Create 3D models, materials and textures to match creative direction, and design work.
- Work closely with the Creative team to keep scale, form details, and art quality consistent across all asset work.
- Work with the whole development team to produce assets that fit within a fully flowing and playable level.
- Adapt work methods to the project pipeline and meet technical constraints (including housekeeping and naming conventions).
- Stay up to date on best practices in the video game industry, work to integrate them into the project.
- Work on tasks with clear direction, with and without supervision.
- Ability to maintain strong communication with the rest of the work group.
Requirements
- Thorough knowledge and proficiency with Maya.
- Experience and proficiency with Unreal Engine
- Experience with art asset creation and implementation.
- Experience and proven skillset with a PBR Material Pipeline.
- Knowledge of Substance Painter/Designer.
- Proven capability to work on multidisciplinary project teams and is able to handle changing priorities throughout a product life cycle.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, as well as a proven track record working with a team.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with a broad range of modern game engines
- A passion for Horror games and Action Adventure games
- Demonstrated passion for entertainment products/media (i.e. comics, movies, novels, etc.)
