The City of Delta is hiring a Program Centre Supervisor facilitate the weekly cultural events and programs scheduled at the Pop-Up Parks throughout Delta. This person will be the first point of contact for on-site events and programs within the Pop-Up Parks Programming, acting as a liaison between musicians, staff and community members. Must be comfortable speaking in front of people, be able to multitask and make decisions based on the evolving programs. Working with an experienced and passionate supervisory team, this is a great opportunity to gain supervisory experience, be mentored and to learn to think outside the box to problem solve.

Responsibilities:

  • Be the point person for on-site cultural events and programs within the Pop-Up Parks programming
  • Act as a liaison between musicians, staff, community members and public
  • Supervise on-site staff to ensure the program is following standards of set lesson plans
  • Facilitate art programming
  • Provide recommendations to supervisor for equipment and program needs
  • Help with set and take down of event functions
  • Purchasing and transport of materials, equipment and supplies to various pop-up locations
  • Promote City events, performances and activities
  • Complete shift reports and communicate with supervisor the needs of programs

Requirements:

  • Flexible, self-motivated, and can take initiative with little supervision
  • Responsible and punctual
  • Have strong customer service skills, sound judgement, and the ability to problem solve
  • Must be able to pass and maintain a clear Police Information with Vulnerable Sector Check
  • A valid Class 5 Driver's License for the Province of British Columbia with a clean driving record
  • Valid First Aid certificate with CPR
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends
  • This position is funded by the Canada Summer Jobs program. In order to be considered for this opportunity, applicants must be between 15 and 30 years of age at the beginning of the employment period, and be able to work 35 hours per week.

Desirable Training and Experience:

Completion of grade 12 supplemented by courses in recreation and some related community recreation experience OR an equivalent combination of training and experience. Supervisory experience an asset. Events and programs will be culturally based so a background in visual or performing arts is an asset.

The City of Delta provides a competitive salary of $29.20 - $34.30 (2024 Rates) per hour + 12% in lieu of vacation, public holidays and benefits. Interested applicants are requested to apply by April 19, 2026.
