About Centre Camp
Centre Camp is the destination where children in the Greater Toronto community come together to explore, celebrate, and nurture their Jewish life and connection to Israel. Centre Camp is a place to foster independence and a true camp community while growing leaders of tomorrow within a classic summer camp environment.
Are you a compassionate leader passionate about creating inclusive, supportive environments for children of all abilities? Do you thrive in collaborative, fast-paced camp settings and have experience supporting neurodiverse youth and mentoring staff? We’re looking for an Inclusion Coordinator to lead Centre Camp’s Inclusion team and ensure every camper can fully participate in camp life in a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Recruit, train, and supervise one-to-one inclusion staff providing individualized and small-group support to neurodiverse campers and those with behavioral, social-emotional, or developmental needs
- Collaborate with camp staff to adapt activities and implement proactive sensory, regulation, and behavioral support strategies
- Build and maintain positive, consistent communication with camper families
- Collaborate with the JCC inclusion team, unit heads, and camp staff to promote a culture of belonging and inclusion
- Plan and facilitate pre-camp and ongoing inclusion training for staff
- Use trauma-informed, strength-based approaches to prevent and respond to behavioral challenges and support de-escalation
- Assist in developing and implementing individualized support plans
- Complete required documentation, record observations, and communicate clearly with families, staff, and camp leadership in accordance with JCC policies
Ideal Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years of experience working with children with special needs.
- Post-secondary education in Special Education, Child and Youth Care, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field
- Proven leadership or supervisory experience in a camp, educational, or childcare environment
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Demonstrated problem-solving, adaptability, and empathy in dynamic situations.
