Job Description:
The Manager, Enterprise Solution, Student Information System (SIS) provides strategic and operational leadership for the SIS Support Team, ensuring effective and timely delivery service to the college community. This role is responsible for managing system support operations, optimizing business processes, and ensuring a seamless user experience across the student lifecycle from recruitment and admissions through graduation. The Manager works collaboratively with the business owner (Registrar) and stakeholders across Academic, and ITS to maintain system integrity, promote effective use of technology, and advance the Algonquin College’s goals related to student success and operational excellence. The Manager is responsible for leading, developing, and coordinating the day-to-day operations of the SIS Support Team. This role ensures high-quality technical and functional support for users across the College, including faculty, staff, and administrators. The Manager oversees configuration, maintenance, incident resolution, user training, process optimization, and the continuous improvement of system functionality to enhance the student experience and operational efficiency.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum three (3) or four (4) year Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Administration or a relevant combination of education and experience
- ITIL Foundations and/or Project Management Professional (PMP)
- Minimum nine (9) years’ recent experience is required in the following areas (for the purposes of qualifying candidates, recent experience means only work experience acquired within the last 15 years can be attributed towards meeting this requirement):
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in information systems support, student information systems, or IT service management, with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
- IT or Business leadership position overseeing teams that support enterprise business systems, preferably commercial enterprise systems environment.
- Managing business analysis and configuration, with preference for experience in providing integrated information support to medium-sized corporation executives and users.
- Experience with enterprise-level SIS platforms (e.g., Thesis, Banner, PeopleSoft, Workday Student, or equivalent) is strongly preferred.
- Experience delivering automation solutions combined with business process improvement initiatives.
- Strong leadership, coaching, and team-building skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts into user-friendly language.
- Ability to provide presentations to senior executives about technical service delivery strategies, issues, and options.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and stakeholder expectations in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated understanding of IT service management principles (ITIL certification considered an asset).
- Commitment to continuous improvement and exceptional client service.
- Experience in post-secondary education is an asset.
