About the role
Job Description Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Operations Supervisor will be responsible for leading the team and delivering the quality products and service to our customers. They will oversee and coordinate the daily operations of the plant in the most efficient, cost-effective and safe manner.
Responsibilities
- Manage all aspects of production and blending, including scheduling, product offloading, safety compliance, and operating systems for fertilizer blending.
- Plan and schedule equipment repairs and general maintenance. Hire contractors, delegate tasks, and support issue resolution.
- Ensure smooth order processing, payroll compliance, customer service standards, and overall operational support.
- Promote a safe work environment through compliance, risk assessments, and staff training.
- Lead and develop the team through coaching, performance management, hiring, and identifying growth opportunities.
- Oversee inventory control and collaborate with sales to meet grower needs for fertilizer, chemicals, seeds, and plastics, ensuring timely deliveries.
- Responsible for financial results for the branch, including overhead and production.
Qualifications
- Completion of post-secondary education or equivalent.
- 2+ years of management/supervisory experience is required.
- Agriculture experience would be an asset.
- Demonstrated leadership ability and strong analytical skills.
- Strong can-do attitude and growth mindset.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Mechanical aptitude and previous experience working in manufacturing or fertilizer operations would be considered an asset.
- Ability to work variable hours and days during peak season.
- Experience with Microsoft Office suite, in particular Word and Excel.

Cavendish Agri Services operates from 12 facilities in the Maritime Provinces of Canada and in Maine. Primary sales are custom blended fertilizer and crop protectant products. We also carry products specifically for golf courses, lawn & garden, de-icing, waste treatment, and crop seed.
Our business is helping our customers businesses grow by providing farmers with what they need to grow healthy and productive crops. In addition to the products we sell Cavendish Agri Services also provides agricultural services such as crop scouting, GPS mapping, lime spreading, irrigation equipment and farm supplies.
