About the Role
Elmwood Spa — one of Toronto’s most recognized urban day spas — is seeking a dedicated Facilities Supervisor to oversee operations and maintenance for three downtown properties: Elmwood Spa, Bangkok Garden Restaurant, and Elmwood Business Offices.
This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for maintaining building systems, safety, and overall appearance. The Facilities Supervisor ensures all facilities are secure, compliant, and operating efficiently while supporting the exceptional guest experience Elmwood Spa is known for.
Key Responsibilities
Building Operations & Maintenance
- Oversee all aspects of the three properties’ interior and exterior, including windows, carpets, signage, walkways, minor plumbing, electrical, HVAC, lighting, and pest control.
- Perform general maintenance, cleaning, and pool upkeep, ensuring all areas meet safety, functionality, and aesthetic standards.
- Protect property assets by maintaining secure premises at all times.
- Ensure compliance with City of Toronto building and fire codes; coordinate inspections and maintain accurate records.
Coordination & Supervision
- Coordinate, schedule, and supervise trades and contractors for repairs, installations, and service work.
- Manage supplier relationships, obtain quotations, and oversee approved work orders.
- Source and requisition approved tools, materials, and supplies within budget.
Leadership & Administration
- Lead and motivate facilities staff through coaching, mentoring, and performance feedback.
- Participate in hiring and support productivity and process improvements.
- Respond promptly to Landport requests and after-hours emergencies, ensuring proper documentation and communication.
- Maintain confidentiality and represent the department on committees and cross-functional initiatives.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills, Qualifications & Education
- Full-time (40 hrs/week); on-call every other month and available 24/7 for emergencies.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in building or facilities maintenance (supervisory experience an asset).
- Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and water systems.
- Pool maintenance and WHMIS certification required; Facilities Management certificate preferred.
- Valid driver’s license (or willingness to obtain) and reliable on-call transportation.
- Bondable with a clean criminal background check.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Flexible to work days, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Dependable, safety-focused, and committed to high standards of workmanship.

With seven specialized treatment rooms, two steam rooms, an infrared sauna, rain shower and garden terrace area, elmspa approaches health and well-being holistically, integrating ancient Eastern therapies with the latest Western techniques.
