POSITION DETAILS
CLASSIFICATION These positions are classified at the RE-05 group and level which is roughly equivalent to the CT-FIN-03 group and level.
LOCATION
These positions are located in Toronto and Montreal. Working from the Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal, or Vancouver office may be approved, depending on worksite availability.
OSFI’s work model includes telework and mandatory onsite presence. The terms of the employee’s telework arrangement will be established in accordance with the Directive on Telework and related organizational directions. These arrangements must be reviewed annually, at a minimum, and can be subject to change.
SALARY
The RE-05 salary is from $105,200 to $135,300.
PROCESS INTENT
The immediate intent of this process is to staff multiple positions with various language requirements including English essential and bilingual imperative on both a term (two to five years) and indeterminate basis. In the absence of any qualified candidates who meet the bilingual imperative language requirement, a bilingual non-imperative appointment MAY be considered within this advertised appointment process.
A pool of qualified or partially qualified candidates may be created to staff similar or identical positions with various linguistic profiles (bilingual imperative, bilingual non-imperative, English essential or French Essential), security requirements, tenures, and/or locations within the Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions (OSFI), which may vary according to the position being staffed.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Insurance The Insurance supervision team is responsible for supervising a large portfolio of large and medium-sized life and property and casualty (P&C) insurers and reinsurers. Insurance principal analysts are the primary interface between OSFI and these insurers and are responsible for monitoring their financial and operational strength as well as governance practices.
Domestic Banking
The Domestic Banking team is responsible for supervising a large portfolio of small and medium sized deposit taking institutions (DTIs)*. Domestic Banking principal analysts are the primary interface between OSFI and these DTIs and are responsible for monitoring their financial and operational strength as well as governance practices.
- DTIs include banks, trusts and loan companies, and credit unions.
Supervision Data and Analytics Insights (SDAI)
SDAI principal analysts develop and maintain data and analytic tools, including dashboards and models, that support supervision teams across OSFI, including lead supervisors and specialists. SDAI principal analysts work closely with other colleagues across OSFI with responsibilities for data and the regulatory returns.

Candidates must meet all of the essential qualifications to be appointed; however, depending on the requirements of the specific position(s) being staffed, one or more asset criteria or organizational need may be invoked at any stage of the process.
