Your Opportunity:
We have an exciting opportunity for a Mental Health Therapist to provide crisis intervention, assessment, consultation, referral, and treatment services. Your role will involve developing personalized treatment plans, conducting evidence-based assessments, offering crisis intervention, and delivering both individual and group counseling. Additionally, you will facilitate referrals to community resources, ensuring each client receives comprehensive, high-quality support that fosters genuine recovery and long-term wellness. You'll work with a multi-disciplinary team and interact with clients through walk-in services, booked appointments and potential travel as required with the area.
Description:
As the Mental Health Therapist, you will be required to use a variety of treatment modalities (individual, family, and group) to persons experiencing significant mental health difficulties. Working both independently and as a member of a collaborative multidisciplinary team, you will provide evidence informed and best practices in crisis intervention, assessment, consultation, referral, case management and treatment.

Required Qualifications:
Master's degree in Psychology; or master's degree in Social Work (clinical specialization) including education in mental health assessment and psychotherapy; or master's or bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy including training and experience in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy; or master's degree in Nursing or Psychiatric Nursing including training and experience in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy. Active or eligible for registration with the applicable Alberta regulatory college.
Additional Required Qualifications:
Minimum two years’ related experience with all ages of clients experiencing mental health problems. Working knowledge of suicide and crisis intervention. Working knowledge of mental health problems and evidence-based interventions. Demonstrated assessment skills and dedication to client focused care. A working knowledge of medications as related to psychiatric issues. Strong interpersonal, organizational and communication skills. Registered Social Workers are required to have the practice enhancement of restricted psychosocial intervention.
Preferred Qualifications:
Working knowledge of community and mental health resources. Training and/or experience in suicide and crisis intervention: Suicide Risk Assessment Certificate or equivalent. Training and/or experience with Connect Care.
