We are seeking a permanent, full-time Marketing & Business Development Coordinator to join our Halifax-based team.
SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES
Marketing & Business Development Support
- Support the planning and lead the execution of firm-hosted and third-party in-person and virtual events, webinars, and client programs, including coordination with venues, caterers, audio-visual providers, and promotional suppliers.
- Assist with business development initiatives, including support for lawyer involvement in industry conferences, sponsorships, memberships, and client-facing activities.
- Coordinate corporate sponsorships and charitable giving initiatives in alignment with firm priorities and community engagement goals.
- Support submissions for legal rankings, awards, and directories, including gathering information from lawyers and maintaining relevant deadlines.
Communications & Brand Management
- Coordinate the creation of digital and print marketing materials, including drafting and editing content, liaising with designers and vendors, and ensuring brand consistency.
- Maintain and update the firm’s website and social media platforms, ensuring content is current, accurate, and engaging.
- Support marketing campaigns and internal communications initiatives, including invitations, announcements, and campaign tracking.
Operations & Administration
- Coordinate branded merchandise, inventory, and client gifts, ensuring quality control and budget awareness.
- Manage relationships with external marketing vendors, including printers, designers, and promotional suppliers.
- Provide general administrative support for firm initiatives.
- Perform other duties as assigned in support of the firm and/or marketing and business development objectives.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
- Undergraduate degree or diploma in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of relevant experience in marketing, communications, or business development; experience in a professional services or law firm environment is a strong asset.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and competing deadlines with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong organizational, time-management, and project coordination skills.
- Ability to work independently with initiative, as well as collaboratively within a team.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including proofreading and editing.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships with lawyers, colleagues, and external stakeholders.
- Experience with website content management systems, email marketing tools, and social media platforms, including knowledge of best practices.
- Experience coordinating advertising, design, or marketing projects, including preparing briefs and managing timelines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Forms, etc.).
- Flexibility to work outside regular business hours, as required for events and firm initiatives.
