Purpose:
Worley is seeking a Chief Nuclear Engineer in Markham, Ontario with extensive experience in the nuclear industry to lead and execute complex projects. You will be responsible for ensuring that project deliverables are completed with quality, on time, and within budget, while upholding Worley’s standards for safety and technical excellence.

This role ensures that all engineering deliverables meet the highest standards of safety, quality, regulatory compliance, and technical integrity. The Chief Nuclear Engineer will act as the final authority on design decisions and will be instrumental in shaping the technical direction of nuclear projects.

Responsibilities:

  • The scale of impact — supporting cornerstone projects that power millions of homes with zero-emission energy.
  • Serve as the Design Authority for all nuclear engineering projects, providing final approval on design packages.
  • Ensure all designs comply with Canadian nuclear regulatory requirements, industry codes, and client specifications.
  • Lead technical governance and design assurance processes across multidisciplinary engineering teams.
  • Provide strategic direction and mentorship to engineering teams, fostering a culture of technical excellence and safety.
  • Interface with clients, regulators, and internal stakeholders to ensure alignment on technical scope and design intent.
  • Champion safety in design principles and ensure all deliverables reflect best practices in nuclear safety and sustainability.
  • Oversee engineering change control processes and ensure rigorous configuration management.
  • Support project execution phases including FEL, detailed engineering, and construction readiness.
  • Represent the organization in technical reviews, audits, and regulatory engagements.

What you will bring:
Technical and Industry Experience:

  • Demonstrated experience in EPC/EPCM project delivery, including front-end engineering, cost estimation, and gated reviews.
  • Strong understanding of safety codes, CSA standards, and CNSC regulatory frameworks.
  • Exceptional communication, leadership, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a multidisciplinary team environment.

Education – Qualifications, Accreditation, Training:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Nuclear Engineering or a related discipline. from an accredited University.
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) registered with Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO), member in good standing.

Required:

  • Senior-level expertise in nuclear design and engineering with significant leadership roles in Canada's nuclear industry.
  • Recognized authority in nuclear design, with deep knowledge of CANDU systems and Canadian nuclear utility standards.
  • Must be available to participate in Worley’s Hybrid work schedule, 4 days in the office.
  • Have a valid Canadian Nuclear Security Clearance.
