About the Job:
We're seeking a hands-on, safety-focused Production Supervisor to lead daily operations at our Essex Quarry. In this key role, you’ll oversee daily operations at our processing plants to ensure high-quality production, efficient workflows, and compliance with safety and environmental standards. Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, you’ll be the go-to leader on site, supporting a skilled team while driving continuous improvement in production performance. This full-time role offers a competitive salary range of $75,000–$80,000. If you're ready to take the next step in your aggregates career, this is your opportunity.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Manage daily production schedules to meet sales demands and inventory targets
- Oversee machine inspections and plant equipment performance
- Process employee timecards and liaise with payroll to resolve discrepancies
- Generate and analyze daily production reports
- Supervise subcontractors and consultants during plant construction or upgrades
- Support procurement of parts and consumables for ongoing maintenance
- Assist in budget preparation and monitor costs
- Promote and enforce safety and environmental standards and training
- Lead and motivate a production team, identifying training needs and ensuring operational efficiency
- Foster positive labor relations and assist with collective agreement administration
Here’s What You Need:
- High school diploma (minimum); college diploma in civil engineering or C.E.T. preferred
- 2+ years in plant operations and/or supervisory roles, preferably in the aggregates or heavy industrial sector
- Valid Ontario Class G Driver’s Licence
- Strong leadership and team coordination skills
- Knowledge of environmental, health & safety legislation
- Detail-oriented with excellent recordkeeping and reporting skills
- Understanding of quality standards in quarry/asphalt operations
- Proficient with computer systems to track production and generate reports
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
