Job Summary
Reporting to the Operations Manager, the AZ Driver - Night responsibilities include pick-up and delivery of various construction products throughout Southern Ontario (primarily the GTA). You will be required to perform & record all trip inspections as well as comply with documentation requirements.
Responsibilities

Operate commercial vehicles, including roll-off trucks and tractor trailers, to transport goods and materials safely to designated locations.

Conduct thorough pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicles meet all mechanical, safety, and regulatory standards.

Safely load and unload cargo using proper equipment, securing materials to prevent shifting, damage, or safety hazards.
-
Plan, adjust, and follow efficient routes and schedules to meet delivery timelines and optimize operational productivity.

Comply with all traffic laws, transportation regulations, and company policies while operating commercial vehicles.

Adhere strictly to safety procedures to prevent accidents, injuries, and damage to equipment or cargo.
-
Maintain accurate and detailed records of driving hours, mileage, fuel usage, cargo information, and deliveries to satisfy regulatory and company requirements.

Promptly report accidents, incidents, equipment defects, and safety concerns to management for timely follow-up and resolution.

Deliver cargo in a timely, safe, and professional manner, ensuring a high standard of customer satisfaction.

Communicate effectively with customers, dispatchers, warehouse staff, and supervisors to coordinate deliveries and resolve issues.

Represent the company with professionalism, courtesy, and a high level of customer service during all interactions with clients and the public.

Perform routine vehicle maintenance, including checking fluid levels, inspecting tires, and completing minor repairs as needed.

Report mechanical issues or system malfunctions to maintenance personnel to ensure timely servicing and prevent operational downtime.

Maintain vehicle cleanliness and organization to support safe, efficient, and reliable operation.

Collaborate with dispatchers, supervisors, and team members to support coordinated operations, resolve scheduling challenges, and ensure workflow efficiency.

Participate actively in team communication, sharing relevant information and contributing to a cooperative and supportive work environment.
-
Perform other related duties as assigned to support operational needs.
Qualifications
-
Proven experience operating roll-off trucks and tractor trailers.
-
Demonstrated experience hauling heavy machinery and oversized loads.
-
Current and valid AZ Driver’s Licence with a clean driving abstract.
-
Ability to provide a current and valid CVOR.
-
Strong ability to follow instructions and maintain up-to-date knowledge of routes throughout the Greater Toronto Area (GTA).

Effective team player with strong collaboration skills.
-
Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English fluently.
-
High level of professionalism with a commitment to delivering excellent customer service.
-
Self-motivated, punctual, reliable, and highly safety conscious.

Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and varying schedules, as well as the ability to work in all weather conditions.

Solid understanding of load securement principles and practices.
-
Experience assisting with manual labour and physically demanding tasks.
