About the Role:

At the William Lutsky Early Years Program, we are committed to providing a safe, welcoming, and high-quality environment for all children and families. As an Early Years Program Volunteer, you will support children’s learning and development, help foster positive relationships with peers, staff, and families, and contribute to a caring and inclusive community.

Responsibilities:

  • Be positive, helpful, and welcoming at all times.
  • Support children in learning and play within a safe, engaging environment.
  • Support staff in delivering age-appropriate programming that builds skills in a fun and supportive way.
  • Assist with daily program tasks, including taking attendance, setting up materials or tables, and cleaning up after activities.
  • Communicate respectfully with parents, sharing feedback and addressing concerns as appropriate.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with children, families, and staff.

Qualifications:

  • Positive and welcoming attitude – Friendly, patient, and respectful when interacting with children, families, and staff.
  • Interest in working with children – Enjoys supporting children’s learning, play, and development in a safe and engaging environment.
  • Strong communication skills – Able to listen, follow directions, and communicate respectfully with staff and children.
  • Dependable and responsible – Reliable, punctual, and able to assist staff with daily routines and activities.
  • Ability to work in a team environment – Willing to collaborate with educators and support a positive, inclusive childcare setting.
