Expected Salary Range**: $124055 - $155069 Annually**
Target Variable Performance Pay: 15%
The salary range shown above reflects the expected compensation for this position. The final salary offered will be determined based on a holistic assessment of the candidate’s experience, education, training, and alignment with the role’s requirements. For positions covered by a collective agreement, placement within the range will follow the applicable step or classification.
Reporting to the Director, IT Infrastructure Operations and Cyber Security, the Manager, Infrastructure Operations is accountable for leading the administration and support of the organization’s Database and Middleware environments. The Manager, Infrastructure Operations works with business and IT stakeholders to elicit, analyze, communicate and validate database and middleware requirements. The incumbent leverages business requirements to implement data and reporting tools/framework, utilizing identified and selected methodologies and software for administering database and middleware to implement the appropriate solution.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Leads a team of database and middleware consultants (internal and external resources) to manage the day-to-day delivery, support, performance monitoring, reporting, governance continuous improvement for corporate system environments (production, test, training and development), to ensure client systems are secure and reliable, and data is recoverable in the event of data loss through accident or disaster

Educates business unit users in the use of information technology, providing or arranging for end-user training (as required)

Manages and allocates resources to support internal Project Delivery teams to prepare and sustain required environments to enable project execution. Works in partnership with the business units and IT departments to ensure compliance with IT technology standards and maintenance of service levels

Proactively engages with departments within IT to assess and define upcoming database and middleware requirements (project definition and scope, feasibility studies, cost benefit analysis) to translate functional needs into business/system opportunities in an effort to enhance business operations

Designs and executes non-standard service requests (as prescribed by divisional work intake management process), managing all aspects of project including needs assessment, design, implementation (schedule, budget, resource allocation), and follow-up
REQUIREMENTS:
-
University degree or College diploma in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration. Related discipline maybe considered.

Ten (10) years of relevant information technology/database and middleware experience
-
Seven (7) years of experience in asset lifecycle/capacity management in the following technical domains:
- Databases
- Middleware
-
Five (5) years progressive supervisory/project leadership experience
-
Knowledge of operating principles of databases and middleware solutions such as Oracle Databases, MS SQL databases, WebSphere, WebLogic, MQ, Data Warehousing solutions, BI
-
Knowledge of business and technology domains, such as products, processes, markets and systems
-
Good understanding of systems delivery, project management, SDLC, and ITIL methodologies
-
Basic knowledge of standard programming and data modeling methodologies
-
Proficient with structured methods for process and organizational analysis requirements elicitation techniques
-
Project management skills

Risk management skills
-
Stakeholder management and engagement skills

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Facilitation skills

Data gathering, data analysis, problem solving and decision-making skills

This position is based in a hybrid environment allowing for remote work two days per week, based on business needs. Employees will be required to come onsite Tuesday to Thursday. You are expected to live in Ontario and within reasonable commuting distance of the office.
