The Ministry of SaskBuilds and Procurement Information Technology Division is seeking a highly motivated individual with excellent leadership and interpersonal skills to join the Architecture and Planning branch as the Director, Enterprise Architecture on a permanent basis. Reporting directly to the Executive Director, Architecture and Planning Branch this position will be in Regina, SK.
As a member of the IT Division management team, the Director provides leadership, oversight and direction to the Enterprise Architecture team and the development of IT strategies that support government priorities, and ensure optimization of ongoing investments in government IT assets and providing access to critical information used by decision makers to ensure government IT infrastructure, applications and data are protected and well managed.
Key Responsibilities for this position include:

Lead the development and implementation of enterprise architecture practices as well as business and technology strategic consulting services.

Lead and develop a team of high-performing professionals, providing expert guidance, support, and performance feedback.
-
Provide technology leadership and expert advice to IT and business executives, peers and clients.
-
Oversee technology governance frameworks and review boards to ensure compliance with architectural standards across all IT projects.
-
Oversee the creation and maintenance of architecture models, standards, and documentation.
-
Build and nurture strong relationships with peers, clients, service providers and stakeholders.
-
Direct the assessment and evaluation of emerging technologies, identifying opportunities for innovation and improvement.
-
Participate in the division / branch planning and budgeting cycles.
-
Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the department.
-
Manage budgets, resources, and timelines to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
-
Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to track progress and make data-driven decisions.
The ideal candidate will be a results-oriented individual with strong client relationship building skills and you will demonstrate:

Knowledge of ITIL, TOGAF and COBIT Frameworks
-
Extensive experience working with enterprise and solutions architecture
-
Strong project management, procurement, organizational change management and analytical skills;
-
The ability to lead, coach and manage a team of professionals in a matrix environment while sustaining a positive work environment;
-
The ability to develop and maintain professional relationships and partnerships with external and internal stakeholders, including building consensus, exercising sound judgment and demonstrating discretion when handling confidential and controversial issues; and
-
The ability to work in a diverse team setting, as well as being self-motivated and flexible in order to adapt to a dynamic environment and respond effectively to multiple tasks.
Typically, the knowledge and skills required for this position would be obtained through the completion of a degree in computer science or a related discipline, supplemented with several years of experience in the Strategic Planning and Enterprise Architecture services field with knowledge of Application Management, Security, Digital and IT Operational Services.
